You’ve got three genuine drafting options, two internal and one external.

The main race is 6m long, so you’re able to hold 3 adult cattle or 6-7 calves in the race at a time.

As with the 62-head yard, this design flows smoothly from pen to pen.
We’ve situated man gates throughout the yard so the operator is able to move between pens with ease. If you need to get out of the way quickly, you can!

As the owner of a lifestyle block, you need a yard that you can move around and grow to adapt to your stock numbers. You should also be able to run cattle and sheep through one set of yards rather than specific yards for each - that’s wasted money and more space taken up than what’s required.

Rattle Free Hold

All yards are braced in the ground via 500m ribbed Ground Spikes (non-concrete) or Concrete Screws (on concrete)

When cattle are putting pressure on yards, it is ‘lateral pressure’. For this reason our cattle rail is 47mm deep which is 15% stronger than most alternatives.

We go deeper rather than higher as cattle push up against the rails, they don’t walk on top of them from our experience.

Minimal Noise with Maxxus

Steel yards rattle like a bitch? Not when they are Maxxus yards

As the owner of a lifestyle block or smaller yard, investing in yards, whether steel or timber, it’s a sizeable investment, so we recommend doing your due diligence. When it comes to steel yards, yes some brands do rattle. Rattly yards produce unnecessary noise that wind cattle up and make basic cattle handling tasks a nuisance. Not to mention getting your cattle into the yards next time being that much harder! We’ve solved this with quite a simple fix – our Anti-Rattle Connection Clamps.

Snug lug fitting

Firstly, the steel rod on our clamps sits nice and snug in the lug fitting on each panel. We allow for ~0.5mm of clearance, so when you’re assembling your yard you’ll find that they ‘just’ fit.

Flush clamp section

Secondly, the ‘clamp’ section fits around the steel posts of each panel or gate, nice and flush. Using a wrench or ideally a rattle gun, these are tightened to ‘pinch’ the steel posts, removing any rattle.

It’s a simple and cost effective solution which so many of our clients rate highly.

We were really unsure about steel yards for a couple of reasons - we’d heard they rattled and weren’t as solid as timber yards through other friends that have used steel in the past. Although Jack ensured that they’d mitigated those problems through their special clamping system and extra bracing, we went and had a look at a similar sized set of yards which really impressed us. Now that they’re standing, our fencer came to build some post and rail fencing to feed cattle into the yards. Even he was blown away with how solid they are with all the bracing and ground spikes supplied.

Maximising Yard Strength

Are they actually solid enough?

If you're only running a handful of tame cattle in a small yard, then the Overhead Bracing isn't a necessity - perhaps save the money. You can buy them later on if need be.

If you're running bigger cattle, and in mobs of 10 plus, the Overhead Braces are good for 'tying' the yard structure together.

We brace any junctions that are close to 90 degrees to effectively ‘lock’ panels and gates in place. Think of it as “united we stand.” When all panels and gates are braced together, they’re much stronger, and therefore far more capable of withstanding stock pressure than without any bracing.

The Overhead Bracing maximizes strength and structural integrity

This allows you you to manage your herd in a solid set of yards that don’t move or rattle unnecessarily. They really are a key cog in the wheel!

How we maximise durability

9 times out of 10, MAXXUS yards go on a gravel type pad or just grass, in which case our 500mm Ground Spikes are a great addition.

If you do opt for a concrete pad for your MAXXUS yard, then concrete screws are the way to go. Otherwise if you're on grass or gravel, our 500mm Ground Spikes a great for locking panels and gates in place.

They’re 500mm long, and they’re ribbed, making sure that when they’re driven into the ground, they lock your panels and gates into place.

Each panel has a ‘footing’ at either end with x2 holes. These footings provide not only anchor points for the Ground Spike, but also increased stability for your MAXXUS panels and also gates. 1 x Ground Spike at each end of a panel/gate is plenty.

You’ll need a sledge hammer to get all of these in place, and we recommend doing your stretches before and after!

Loading Ramps with MAXXUS

How much are they and why do I need a loading ramp?

There are typically two instances where you don’t need a Loading Ramp and that is a) if you opt for home-kill or b) if your site is set up for a loading bank (i.e. your yards are situated on a rise which a stock truck can back up to).

In most other cases you’ll need a loading ramp.

Our MAXXUS Loading Ramp has been designed to cater to your typical lifestyle farmer - you may need to load the back of a ute, or perhaps a trailer, or a proper stock truck. Due to the height-adjustable design, you can load pretty much anything!

The ramp has a range of height settings, so there really isn’t a scenario where you’ll get caught out!

Left hand or right hand operation?

The difference between left hand and right hand is shown in the image carousel at the top of the page. This determines which way gates swing throughout your yard and which way it flows.

Pay your deposit

Pay the 50% deposit and wait 4-6 weeks for your yard to be delivered if they’re not already in stock.

Prepare your yard site

You can just stand the yards up on grass. Otherwise if you want to put a gravel type base down, use the pad measurements provided.

Frequently Asked Questions

Either using 500mm Ground Spikes (if your yards are on a gravel pad or grass) or Concrete Screws (if you're putting your yards on a concrete pad). The Ground Spikes are $9+GST each. We recommend 2 per panel. For small yards (like our 6-head or 12-head), where you're only running a few tame cattle through them, there's no need for Ground Spikes—the yard itself is self-supporting enough.

If you’re buying a Loading Ramp with your package, then that’s the biggest pallet of the lot. It measures 2.7m x 2.7m, so you’ll need to make sure your trailer can handle that safely. If you’re not buying a Loading Ramp, then the pallets measure 2.2m x 2.2m. For yards 48-head and up, we recommend talking with your local transport provider to pick up your yards from your nearest Mainfreight and deliver direct to your site.

All yards come with a 10-year warranty on the hot-dipped galvanising. All steel comes with an 18-month structural warranty.

Yes, we’ve kept sheep in mind when we designed the Maxxus range, so lifestyle blocks can have one set of handling yards for both sheep and cattle. The bottom few gaps between rails are 150mm, 160mm and 190mm.

A flat surface is ideal; however, our anti-rattle connection clamps are designed with enough flexibility to accommodate some uneven ground. A mild slope in the paddock won't be an issue. Steeper slopes do pose challenges during assembly. Many of our customers choose to lay a level pad before setting up their yard or select a suitable site with minimal slope. If necessary, adding gravel afterward to help level the area is a simple solution.

Build quality is great and real sturdy as.

Approached Onefarm in regards to the 6 head cattle yards. Amazing communication with excellent support and even went over and above to get the job done before Christmas. The price point was awesome as I couldn't even build wooden ones with that pricing. Don't even need perfectly level ground. Build quality is great and real sturdy as.
